Delivering Food Essentials

US Ocean works with US government agencies, private voluntary organizations (PVOs), and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to provide U.S. flag ocean transportation and logistics services where required under USAID (Title II) and USDA (FFE & FFP) humanitarian assistance programs. These services include the delivery of vital bulk grains and processed foods for disaster relief and nutritional assistance along with vital infrastructure equipment for developing areas.

Our Capabilities

Disaster ReliefFood AidOther Aid

Disaster Relief

Our heavylift vessels are not dependent on existing port infrastructure to dock and unload aid. This enables us to access even the most remote regions or areas most greatly affected by natural disasters.

Food Aid

We transport critical food, bulk or packaged, around the world in support of communities in need. Bulk food generally includes grains or legumes shipped loose and largely moves on a charter basis but can also move under the terms of a liner booking note. Packaged food includes bags, cans, and other packages of staples and ready to eat products.

Other Aid

Other humanitarian cargo can include disaster relief supplies such as:

  • Blankets
  • Temporary shelters
  • Permanent shelters
  • Infrastructure equipment such as well drilling or construction equipment
  • Water infrastructure projects
  • FEMA supplies
  • Basic industrial support
  • In-kind food aid
